Skin Self-Care Practice

What self-care practices can help me improve my skin and mental health? | Aviva Beauty

While some people choose the self-care path as a way to unwind and relax, others view it as a journey of self-discovery or personal growth.
The good thing about self-care is that there’s no rigid, one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, the journey of self-care is as unique as each individual – our experiences shape how our mind and body feel.
At first, this journey can feel quite messy, uncomfortable, and (worst of all) confrontational.
However, the good news is, with time it can also make you feel self-reliant, evolved, and (best of all) liberated.
Self-care does not come with a ready-made checklist for success, but here are some practices you can incorporate into your routine to manage your mental health and skin:

On the outside:

Cleanse: Twice daily, wash with a gentle cleanser of your skin type (removes dirt, oil, and makeup without drying). Moisturize: Daily with a lotion or cream to keep skin hydrated and plump. Sunscreen: SPF 30+ daily, even on cloudy days (protects from wrinkles and aging). Exfoliate: Gently remove dead skin cells for a brighter complexion. Hydrate & Nourish: Drink plenty of water, get enough sleep, and have a balanced diet. On the inside: Meditation: Reduce stress and anxiety with daily breathing exercises or meditation apps. Exercise or nature walks: Aim for 30 minutes of movement most days for better mood and sleep (both great for skin!). Digital detox: Take regular breaks from screens and unplug before bed for 7-8 hours of proper sleep. Do what you love: Make time for activities you enjoy, like reading, music, or spending time with loved ones. Gratitude practice: Take a few minutes each day to reflect on what you’re grateful for. Healthy skin isn’t just about what you put on your face, it’s also about what makes you happy.Activities you enjoy trigger happy hormones that can help reduce stress, a major factor in skin health.
